Chip is a long-time movie fan. When he was a college student in the early 70's, he helped organize a film series at Stanford that presented short experimental and student films. At the same time, he and his future wife Linda lived in Menlo Park, where they had five theaters within a 2-mile walk. It wasn't at all unusual for them to see three movies in a week!

Today he is one of the co-organizers of the
Sacramento at the Movies group on Meetup.com, a website that helps people find others nearby who share their interests. Sacramento at the Movies's mission is to schedule meetups for indie, foreign, and documentary films and then discuss them afterwards. It's a diverse group, and discussions can be quite interesting!

Chip and his wife Linda have been members of Renaissance since Spring Semester, 2014. They first joined the group when one of their friends told them about a class on the films of Alfred Hitchcock.
